Lake Noquebay hasn't been fished too much over the years by FVBC, and when it has it'd been with mixed results. Being a hit-and-miss lake for us, it threatened to be a 'miss' yesterday. However the club rose to the occasion to make something happen. Heavy rains and storms during the week led into the day and made for a tough catch. Big fish were nowhere to be found. As the water heated up later in the day, shallow water started to produce. Only two of 8 boats managed a limit. One of those limits was brought in by Scott, who had just squeezed into the last spot to make the TOC, by a ridiculously close .2 point margin. Using a classic "bargain bin" pattern, he skipped his way to victory with some kind of fluke/senko bait. His limit weighed 9.82 lbs. John had the other limit for 9.15. Virgil took a close 3rd with 4 for 6.98, edging out 4th place by .25 pounds. Clyde "even when they're not big they're big" took the big bass pot with a 2.73 lb'er. Totals were 22 bass for 40.57 lbs. Other baits that produced were tubes, worm and frogs.
Thanks go out to Dan and Mike for putting together a good group of lakes to draw from. Also in the mix were Lee Flowage, Waupaca Chain, and Big Silver. Also, a big thanks to Dan for attending to direct us, and for providing a boat. It really was a great season, and it was very close right down to the last fish.
On a side note, our elections were held last meeting: Clyde made President, with Mike and Brian retaining their posts as VP and secretary, respectively.
