There was a concern about Long Lake being overly green come tournament time. It was explained it's a much better day lake. History hasn't been on our side, in that the one night tournament we had there, the only bass caught were at dusk or before dark. It might be worth starting a discussion now about possibly changing locations.
Thoughts?

My main concern is the size. Sounds like we have a few more new members looking to join so it could be a bit crowded

i have fished it many times if it is green should not have no effect on the fish i caught plenty of big fish their . That lake can turn nicer fish at night ! As far as being big enough it can handel 10 or 12 boats at a night tourney not a alot of running around. The lake is better than 90 percent fishable for catching big fish.Lower red i don,t think is much bigger.I think it should stay as is!!! at night your not going to see what color the water is anyway?

In fact I've been informed we have three more members coming, and probably a 4th. That would put our roster up to 27.

Sounds good Brian. I think we capped the club size at 30. Do you have a record of the motion for the cap?

Looking at the DNR map site we have 119 acres and 3.36 miles of shoreline on Long Lake. 240 acres and 6.27 miles of shoreline on Lower Red.

I don't have record of that, but I recall we discussed it. It seems we laughed about it a little because getting up to 30 members seemed pretty tough not that long ago.....

I have a thought about the night tournament on Long Lake - It seems to me that the ramp there closes at 11pm until 6am - I could be wrong, but that needs to be checked out ...

I am talking to the Manitowoc city park dept. I am getting a permit, or written permission for us to be there after hours on that date. We will be good to go.

Manitowoc county says not a problem. I just need to let them know the times when we draw that tourney so they can notify the sheriff dept. They will also send a permission letter just in case.
