So I plan to submit a by-law change that would move the selection of dates and lakes from the March meeting to either October or November meeting. This was discussed last year but did not get written up and added to the proposals. The thinking is it will allow those that need to fix vacation schedules by the first of the year an opportunity to balance their fishing with other vacation planning.
My thinking is move it to November. I want to be as inclusive as possible. What's your thoughts? Sincerely, Retired person with a fix vacation of 365 days

November would be good. Or maybe pick dates in November and lakes on goody night in December. Give more time for discussion. Just a thought

I love the idea of picking lakes and dates in the fall Steve. That would make it much easier for members scheduling. I also love Pete's suggestion of Dividing lakes and dates into 2 meetings. IT forces discussion, and actual thought, when we pick lakes to go with the decided dates. We do rush through the picking process now. We have the time, lets use it. Picking the right lakes to go with the right dates would help make for better season for everyone.

Iam for picking lakes and dates late in the year say November. What about get a list of lakes made up at the October meeting .Then November meeting use the lake list to match to dates at the November meeting. Then people can use the form to discuss the lakes that were put on the list i think we should not put the lake & date selection in December with the holidays so close some people travel for holidays. To do this how is this going to work for by law change date which is December meeting ?

All good ideas. Unless we decide to disregard the March meeting selection this year, changes would not take affect until November of 2016 for fishing season 2017.

Sure seems like there's a lot topics open for discussion for this months meeting . I personally feel that we should put off the discussion about the moving of the dates for picking the dates and lakes until next months meeting . This meeting gets long enough without adding two hot topics to the agenda ! I feel that it would be wise to table this discussion to April .

Oh that's probably not going to work seeing that there's going to be quite a few club members fishing in Kentucky!
