In light of recent findings like underage guys wanting to join our club, maybe the bar isn't the best setting for meetings. I talked to Sally over at 1000 Islands this morning about the possibility of holding FVBC meetings there. She said they would welcome us. We would even have our own key. There would be no charge. However, any donation is always welcomed. She said the rods and reels could always used another "tuneup". I think as a club, it wouldn't be tough to give a little back. Thoughts???

Good thought. With the bar being for sale it is worth consideration.

This is an excellent suggestion Mike and I praise your initiative. As an officer, you have probably heard we have been contacted by a 16 year old and his 17 year old friend with an interest in joining the club. After conferring with our president, I responded to them that we would encourage them to attend our March meeting with a parent or legal guardian per our by-laws and the need per our meeting venue . Thus far they may or not attend. Work obligations have been sited. To your point. I think 1000 Island as a meeting location would be one less obstacle for recruiting underage members. And yes, we could support the fishing program at the center in a direct and ongoing manner. Let's open this up for discussion at the March meeting.
