Our February meeting will be back at 1000 Island NatureCenter. We are going to have to come up with some sort of clarification for possible paper Tournements. This issue seemed to strike a nerve with some members at the last meeting,so I thought it best to table the discussion to the February meeting.Does the lake have to be nominated as a paper tournament at the point of picking the lakes and dates ? Can the tournament director make a tournament a paper tournament upon the partner pairings? Just something we have to got figured out. What did you think of the January venue? Let's hear what you think? We will get an update from Tony Mollica on the possible club participation in the tournament on Lake Wisconsin for Badger Childerns Cancer on Aug 6 . Meeting date is February 15 2017 . Hope to see you there !

From a secretary's point of view, it was a nice place (albeit no booze...) except it was pretty cramped and noisy. Made it difficult to focus on getting our apparel order put together, as well as keep track of dues and treasurer stuff. Seems we need a bigger space that is a little more set apart.
As far as the paper tournament issue, I did look back at the notes from the Bago paper tournament. It was voted on at the time we were drawing the lakes and dates. There was nothing put forward for an ongoing basis, either to a vote or a bylaw change. It makes sense that a paper tournament would get voted on during lake selection. That way those that came to the meeting to vote on the schedule would have that input. In other words, if the schedule was already made, and someone wanted to fish a particular tournament, but the director arbitrarily changed it to paper, or even if those present at a meeting voted on it, then that person might change their mind and not want to fish it. Wouldn't seem fair, especially since the bylaws do not support it.
We tried a paper tournament and it seems do-able. If we wanted to fish one of these lakes that you can only bring in one bass or whatever, then the lake selection meeting would be the place to nominate it. Ditto for any other lake someone wanted to have a paper tournament on.
