Lower Red in Shawano Cty was the setting for the T.O.C. Either you haven`t fished it in quite some time or haven`t fishing it at all. I guess for the TOC it turn out to be a good choice. The cream of the crop rose to the top, being able to figure something out with cold front conditions and angry duck hunters.Brian had to be diplomatic and fish well to come out on top for the day.Congratulations on your well deserved victory. The only limit for the day.Way to go Brian ! Steve had some last hour action to save he`s day for second place. John fished hard as usual to come come in third, not that it`s normal for John to finish in third.I mean he always fishes hard.Virgil found himself a real nice bass early in the day,to capture Big Bass for the day.4.75 lbs or something close to that.A very nice fish.Way to go Virg ! It was pretty tough fishing ,but that`s the way the final tournament should be.Good picks for the TOC.Thanks Pete ,Mark and Mike for being the committee.Good job ! So ends another season of fishing with the club.Another season of learning and growing.Becoming better fishermen and better friends.Let`s try to keep it that way! Thanks for everyone taking the time to keep the club together.Without the time that we put into the the club, there won`t be a Fox Valley Bass Club. Thanks Dan And like you said, thanks too, to the TOC committee for putting together a great event. I thought the Lower Red was a perfect TOC lake. Glad it got drawn Also thank you Pete and Mike for directing the tournament, you guys did a great job!! Official results: 9 boats brought in 21 fish for 47.13 lbs. Virgil's big bass weighed 4.26 lbs. Way to go!! 3rd place was John with 4 fish weighing 8.40 lbs. Steve's 2nd place bag of 4 fish weighed 8.83 lbs. Brian's winning limit of 5 tipped the scales (so to speak) at 9.42 lbs. Tough fishing it was. I had to quit a couple minutes before the buzzer due to hand cramps, as getting 5 quality bites required as many casts as possible in the 8 hours. I didn't hear what other guys caught them on, but rodents, swim jigs, and senkos produced. Color didn't seem to make a big difference. Fish were relating to shallow weed lines near rock early, and they moved out to deep weed lines later morning and afternoon. Lots of small fish and pike were to be had all day. And yeah, holy crap with the belligerent duck hunters!! I'll just say this, that guy kayak'ed over to me and said "You guys must be from the Valley, because you're all a bunch of $&*% idiots!" Guess they didn't have a good day shooting ducks.
